Megaworld’s Winford Resort Estate: Blending Manila’s History with Smart, Modern Living
Megaworld is setting out to honor Manila’s rich heritage while introducing a modern, smart-enabled lifestyle with its Winford Resort Estate. “We are designing Winford Resort Estate to honor the rich heritage of this historic area with a fresh look that reflects Manila’s golden years,” stated Kelvin Uy, Head of Sales and Marketing at Megaworld Horizon.
The development seeks to create a unique atmosphere by blending the old with the new. Uy added, “It’s about making people feel at home by blending nostalgia with modern comforts, in a way that people can live in, walk through, and experience every day.”
A major highlight will be the Manila Paseo. This commercial strip will feature cobblestone walkways, heritage-style façades, and al fresco dining. The shops and hangout spots will draw inspiration from the charm of historic Manila areas like Escolta and Calle Crisologo.
From Racetrack to Township: The San Lazaro Transformation
The site of Winford Resort Estate has a storied past. In 2022, Megaworld acquired the San Lazaro property in Sta. Cruz, Manila, from the Reyno family of Manila Jockey Club Inc. for billion.
This location once housed the San Lazaro Hippodrome, a famous racetrack that the Manila Jockey Club eventually relocated to Carmona, Cavite, in 2003. Since then, the property was redeveloped into the 16-hectare San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park. This initial transformation opened the area for commercial projects, ultimately paving the way for Megaworld’s larger township plans.

Inside the estate, Megaworld is launching One Crown Suites, a 17-storey condominium tower. This residential building features 389 smart-enabled units, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms.
