Property giant Megaworld is set to significantly expand its commercial retail portfolio. Its retail and commercial arm, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, is adding over 30,000 square meters of new space this year. This expansion directly addresses the strong market demand for premium commercial spaces in key growth areas, particularly within Megaworld’s integrated townships.

These new retail projects, opening in 2025, are strategically located in McKinley West (Taguig), Makati, Alabang West (Las Piñas City), and Boracay Newcoast (Aklan). This development solidifies Megaworld’s position to achieve its target of one million square meters of gross leasable area by 2030.

Spotlight on Upcoming Retail Developments

The upcoming projects offer a fresh mix of international and local brands, promising new experiences for consumers.

  • The Shoppes at Park McKinley West: This two-story retail hub will be at the podium of the Park McKinley West condominium complex. It will showcase a carefully selected mix of international brands, unique “first-in-the-Philippines” concepts, and popular local dining and lifestyle establishments. These include Ogawa Traditional Japanese Restaurant, Tartufo, Royal Indian Curry House, One World Deli, George & Onnie’s, Café 17, Nightshade Cocktails & Bar, Hanamaruken, and Yakinuku Sudaku, among others.
  • Vion Tower in Makati: A new lifestyle mall is also set to open at Vion Tower, situated along EDSA corner Chino Roces Avenue.
  • Alabang West in Las Piñas: Additional retail areas will soon be available in this upscale township.
  • Newcoast Beachwalk in Boracay: In this stunning island destination, the company will open Newcoast Beachwalk. It will feature an exciting mix of dining, retail, and service concepts specifically for tourists.

Driving Growth and Enhancing Community Value

According to Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, the company is expanding its leasing business by bringing its signature lifestyle mall concept to more locations. This approach not only drives sustained growth for Megaworld but also enhances the value of its townships nationwide by introducing new experiences that resonate with consumers.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has already seen impressive growth, with leasing revenues reaching Php 3.33 billion in the first half of 2025. This marks a 10 percent year-on-year increase, fueled by rising consumer foot traffic and strong demand from premium tenants. The company also recently expanded its retail space at Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila, with the opening of the Imperial Wing, bringing the mall’s total gross leasable area to 36,000 square meters.
